REACHING A LIBRARIAN

Library staff members are available during service hours by telephone or by chat. They can provide book suggestions, answer reference and checkout questions, discuss virtual programs, or just say hello! The library phone number is (846) 835-5056. To reach us by chat, go to our website at www.glencoelibrary.org and look for the blue “Chat with Us” icon in the lower right hand corner of the screen.

CURBSIDE PICKUP SERVICE

If you’re a Glencoe cardholder, you may take advantage of our popular curbside service to check out materials from our collection. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Order your materials by placing them on hold. Do this through our online catalog, by emailing us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., or by phone at (847) 835-5056.

  2. Wait for an email from us stating that your materials are ready to be picked up.

  3. Once you receive that email, call the curbside hotline (847) 835-8926 during library service hours to schedule your pickup appointment time.

  4. Pick up your materials in the library parking lot (entrance on Village Court). On arrival, call the curbside hotline number (847) 835-8926 to let us know you’re here. Please wear a mask. If you’re arriving by car, open your trunk so we can place your bagged items in the back. If you’re on bicycle or on foot, your order will be waiting for you on a blue cart next to the storage shed.

Curbside service hours are the same as general service hours:

  • Monday-Wednesday-Friday: 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.

  • Tuesday-Thursday: 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.

  • Saturday: 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

  • Sunday: 1:00-5:00 p.m.

The curbside daily limit per card is 5 adult collection items and 15 children’s collection items.

RETURNS

Please return your materials through the book drop located on the west side of the library building.

Returned materials are quarantined for three days. It may take several days for items to show as returned on your account. No fines accrue during this three-day quarantine.

INTER-LIBRARY LOANS

Materials from other libraries in our system are available via the RAILS inter-library loan system. Browse our catalog to see what’s available and place a hold on what you’d like to have brought to the Glencoe Library for curbside pickup.

Virtual programs for all ages continue to be offered, including book discussions, lectures, author events, storytimes, kids’ gaming opportunities, and more. See the calendar on our website to learn about what’s coming up.
